Antonio Villar holds a degree in Economics from the Universitat de València, a PhD in Economics from the University of Alicante, and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Oxford. He is Professor at the Pablo Olavide University in Seville (with the consideration of “Researcher of Recognised Value”) and winner of the Andalusian Research Award in the area of Social Sciences and Humanities. His most recent research work is related to the measurement of well-being and the construction of social indicators. He is the author of around twenty books and a hundred articles, published in specialised journals. He has been visiting professor at the universities of Stanford, Oxford, York, Cardiff and visiting researcher at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna, at the European University Institute in Florence and at the OECD in Paris. He has been coordinator of the Economics and Law area of the National Agency for Evaluation and Foresight and coordinator of the CONSOLIDER-Ingenio 2010 Programme and Chairman of its Scientific Committee.
