Simona Demel holds a PhD in Economics from the University of the Basque Country – Euskal Herriko Unibersitatea and is a research associate at the ISEAK Foundation. During her research experience she has worked on numerous projects, both of an academic and applied research perspective. Among them, the Kalahi-CIDSS project, focused on the study of poverty in the Philippines; a series of Basque Labour Reports prepared for the Provincial Council of Bizkaia focused on the labour market, and EFFORT, a European project that measured inequality in education based on socio-economic level. In addition to collaborating with ISEAK, she is a consultant specialising in education, gender and behavioural economics.
