Jorge Barrero has a B. Sc. in biochemistry and a M.A. in Multidisciplinary Studies on Science, Technology and Society (University of Salamanca). From 2008 to 2011 he was the managing director of Cristina Garmendia’s cabinet, the ministry of Science and Innovation. He is currently the president of the Cotec Foundation for Innovation. He took postgraduate courses on Pharmaceutical Industry management (Instituto de Empresa) and Public Management Leadership (IESE). Barrero has also taught at many universities and business schools, and his professional career has been linked to the corporate dynamization from innovation, as a consultant, scientific reporter and technology transfer expert.
