ISEAK Foundation collaborates with the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa in carrying out a study on the employment paths of young people in Gipuzkoa.
Basque youth, and by extension that of Gipuzkoa, have ahead a certainly worrying employment panorama. First of all, they face difficulties when it comes to finding a first job, as most companies look for young people with some work experience. Second, this group faces a very worrying job instability that is visible, not only in the salary conditions, but also in the high temporality of the contracts they sign and in the short duration of many of these contracts. This reality has been worsened in the years of the economic crisis. On the other hand, we are witnessing a brain drain of many of our young people with higher education because this phenomenon of job insecurity for young people is, to a certain extent, exclusive to some countries, among which we find Spain.
Thus, this project seeks to learn about the labor paths of young Gipuzkoans, men and women, to make better political decisions that can help the target group, the companies in which they work and the Gipuzkoan society in general.
