ISEAK Foundation collaborates with the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa in carrying out a work on the career paths of young people in Gipuzkoa.
Basque youth, and thus also youth from Gipuzkoa, face a labor scene that is certainly worrying. First, they face difficulties when it comes to finding a first job, since most companies are looking for young people with some work experience. Secondly, this group faces a worrying labor instability that is visible not only in the salary conditions, but also in the high temporality of the contracts they sign and in the short duration of many of those contracts. This reality has been worsened in the years of the economic crisis. On the other hand, we are witnessing a “brain drain” of many of our young people with higher training, because this phenomenon of job insecurity of young people is, to some extent, exclusive to some countries, Spain among them.
Thus, this project seeks to learn about the career paths of young people from Gipuzkoa, both men and women, to take better political decisions that can help the target group, the companies they work at and the society from Gipuzkoa in general.
