Observatory of poverty and inequality in Euskadi
ISEAK Foundation is carrying out a project that diagnoses poverty and inequality in Euskadi, its three provinces and their regions. The objective is to obtain a detailed radiography of the evolution of different indicators of poverty and inequality between 2008 and 2018 at all geographical levels, focusing on people and households living below the poverty thresholds. In addition, the impact of the Minimum Income Scheme (RGI, for its acronym in Spanish) on the reduction of the different indicators, as well as its shock absorber role in the period of economic recession, is analyzed. The RGI is the economic benefit that the Basque Government provides to those individuals and families who do not have sufficient resources. This project is possible thanks to the collaboration with the Department of Employment and Social Policies of the Basque Government.
